If you see a Connection Timed Out message while setting up your Miko Mini, don’t worry. This usually means Miko hasn’t fully connected to Wi-Fi yet. Follow the steps below to fix it.
Step 1: Check Miko Mini’s Current Status
Look at what Miko Mini says or shows on the screen:
If Miko says:
“I am connected to Wi-Fi”
and starts downloading updates —
✅ Your connection is successful. No action is needed.
If you see any of these screens or messages:
QR Code screen
Configure Wi-Fi
“Waiting to be connected”
This means Miko Mini is not connected to Wi-Fi yet.
➡️ Tap Continue on the screen and move to Step 2 below.
Step 2: Try These Wi-Fi Troubleshooting Checks
Please make sure all of the following are true:
Wi-Fi password is correct (passwords are case-sensitive)
Miko Mini is close to the Wi-Fi router (within ~5 meters)
You are using a secured Wi-Fi network
(2.4 GHz networks work best; open/public networks are not supported)-
Required permissions are enabled on your phone for the Miko App, including:
Location
Local Network / Nearby Devices
Close and restart the Miko App, then try the setup again
Try connecting using a mobile hotspot from another phone (recommended to rule out home Wi-Fi issues)
Step 3: Restart Miko Mini and Retry Setup
If the error still appears:
Press and hold the power button on Miko Mini for 5 seconds to turn it off
Wait for 60 seconds
Turn Miko Mini back on
Restart the setup process from the beginning
